Screened Gazebos

What is the best way to enjoy the outdoors and stay in a comfort at the same time? The answer is an outdoor gazebo and these structures are not a new phenomenon. In fact, outdoor gazebos have been in use since the 1800s and they have long been popular for family get-togethers and picnics in the outdoors. An outdoor gazebo can be great for housing a spa or hot tub and great for bench style seats for extended seating but what is a person to do when bugs and mosquitoes take over the air; making it nearly impossible to enjoy the outdoors without getting pelted with flying bugs. Screened gazebos are the quick and easy answer to this problem and they not only keep the bugs out and keep the air in, they offer a great protection from other weather instances.

Screened gazebos are great if you use or want to use your gazebo for meals or social gathering. Without a screen surrounding the perimeter of the structure it is highly possible that gnats, hornets and other bugs (along with falling leaves and birds) will enter the gazebo and interrupt. A screen will help keep these insects and objects on the outside, not the inside.

Another reason people seem to gravitate toward screens is because they allow for much more privacy. Most screens are made out of a darker, heavier material so that is far more difficult to see in but very easy to see out. Think of it like a tinted car window. You can’t see in but seeing out isn’t hard at all. If you are worried about watchful neighbors and/ or strangers looking into your gazebo while you enjoy dinner if you have a screen you don’t even have to worry because they will have to be fairly close to see in. Plus, with swinging screens you actually have the option of having the screens down (for privacy) or swung up so that you realize the effects of an open gazebo. This is a fairly new feature of screened gazebos and it offers the chance to choose between both worlds.

The most popular way to deal with screens however is by getting the cheap wraparound screens. These screens are easy to install to your current gazebo and they look great. Buying a screen itself does not cost that much, especially considering the great benefits you will be receiving.

While it will cost a little more to have a gazebo with screens, most consumers love the added benefit that they receive from having them. There aren’t any bugs whatsoever; they have more privacy then ever before; and they have the option of going open or shut.
